Four looks, every piece, and what to skip.

A Christine Daaé closet cosplay is one you put together from pieces you can buy and wear again. No pattern and no sewing machine. I have four Christine lists on my storefront, and each one covers a different costume: the white dressing gown from the 2004 movie, the dressing gown from the stage show, Star Princess, and Mary Philbin's Christine from the 1925 film. I've bought every piece on this page except the two dressing gowns and the 1925 pieces. Those are on my list.
This is the Christine most people are doing for Halloween. It's the 2004 version of the movie, where she's wearing her white on white dressing gown.

Corset and bloomers first, then the stockings. The robe goes over everything and belts at the waist. Shoes last.
The candelabra, unless you're filming. Christine doesn't even carry a candelabra in that movie. That comes from only one Phantom version (1990!), but on social media people use it as a prop, so it's become a staple of “social media Christine.” It is pretty. The set comes with two and you only need one in your hand.
On stage the dressing gown is a white gown over a beaded bodice. My list for this one has two gowns you can buy and what goes under them.

Tights and shorts first, then the corset. The gown goes over everything. Shoes last.
The second gown. You only need one. Skip everything else on that list too. The rest is supplies and a wig stand, and none of it is something you wear.
Star Princess is the one look here where you buy the costume itself.

I'm going to be really honest with you: you need to wear a corset and a petticoat. All of you. That's why your costume is bunching. That's why it's hanging flat. If you put no other effort into this cosplay, please put that effort in.
The rhinestones, glue, tulle and fabric paint on that list. Those are for upcycling the costume, and you don't need them to wear it.
This list is inspired by Mary Philbin's Christine Daaé look in the 1925 silent film. These four pieces are on my list. I haven't bought them yet.

Pick one dress. The lace up set already has its white sleeves. The wine red dress has short sleeves, so the white blouse goes under it. The belt goes over the dress at the waist.
The second dress. You only need one. If you buy the lace up set, skip the blouse too, because the chemise comes with it.
There's no dress code at the US Tour, and cosplay is welcome. The US Tour guide has everything else about seeing it.
Masquerade NYC is different. The dress code there is black, white and silver with a mask, and stiletto and kitten heels are banned. Both dressing gown looks are already white. Leave the bow pumps at home and wear the LanreyTaley Victorian Lace Up Boots. The Star Princess costume is blue and pink. That's outside the palette, and staff cloak you if your colors are off. The 1925 dresses are red, so the same goes for them.
